Hey all.

Had a custom idea just wanting some advice on it all.

Ok on the dash infront of the passeneger cut a hole to fit a 7" In Dash Monitor. On this second TV I want to run maybe an Xbox, maybe a PS. Would the monitors still need wires running to the speakers, or would I be able to install a new speaker? If they use the same speakers as the head unit, can you run the Xbox/PS as the same time as the headunit if they are using the both speakers?

Any feedback is good.

Depends on how u want it wired

generally you would connect the xbox to either the TV....running the normal audio in/outs ... or thru to the HU auxillary in.

If you wanted to listen to the HU music at the same time then youd best to set it up to run thru the tv...even through a an audio switch/splitter box...so when u want u can flick it over to run thru both...

Your headunit is capable of outputting multiple channels but would sound s**t withit all mixed in highly would recommened against doing it this way...plus most HU will only allow u to play via one source at a time eg: only fm, or only CD, or only AUX etc

Hey this might seem a bit gay or stupid, but Im wondering if there was a way of installing the original PSX into my EB. Because my sis got a PS2 and I have nowhere for the original one. I thought that this would be different than all the up-market gaming consoles.

Get your xbox, buy a 140w converter, get the L & R audio cables.. put them into a convertor so that you can put it into a audio jack. plug the audio jack into the AUX on your deck. change the source to AUX and away you go

Plug the video into your tft monitor!

If you need any help let me know?

Yeh dude PSX will go in just the same as XBOX/PS2....same setup. :p

Just have it connected in or under the glovebox....unless you particulary want it out on display.

For a lil extra id be going a higher output DC invertor....around 300w....depends in the end what choice of setup you go.....If you run an LCD TV they chew alot more peak Watts on power up and continous current draw....not surte what a PS/XBOX consumes...shouldnt be more than 80w i think(xbox is about 75w - xbox 360 is 140w).....as far as audio....do u really wanna listen to the stereo at the same time as someone playing games ?

depending but id bet is fine ... if you wanna seperate the sound id be installing a TV with built in speakers mate be easier...having it running thru the stereo as well as music playing will just mess with staging and where sound is supposed to be coming from.....i wouldnt recommened it.

battery will be fine to run this....when the car is running espescially...for long periods if the car is off it may drain it heaops quick in con-junction with the stereo blarin.

But im bravely attempting my first serious mod :P im thinking of buying a second hand glove box, and hacking at it, then moulding a frame so my xbox will sit snug in it.... has anyone done anything like this before? obviously I will make it so the glovebox doesnt open the same as usually, but so u can see the front of the xbox

any ideas or suggestions?

If you could get an old hands free phone kit, then you could splice the mute wire onto the passenger side speaker, and then connect the output of the X-box etc to the speaker output wire. You'd need to check the wiring to trigger it with a switch or something.
