Hello all,

I was wondering where a good spot would be to install the cross-over's on both the drivers side and passenger side for my focal splits. I was trying to remove the plastic mould around the fuse box area, but I couldn't get it off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

the tweeters go on the dash in the back corner and the cross over in the kick panel cut the old wires off that go in to the door and extend them to the cross over (kick panel)

I installed mine in the map pockets. Maybe not the best location for a stealth install but i don't mind them there, plus they were fairly easy to wire up as i didn't have to run long lengths of wire to the tweeters and woofers. Was originally going to install them somewhere above where the headunit mounts as there is space there but that didn't happen.. As you can see, the tweeters were mounted on the sail trims that sit above the door trim.

Uhh no they arent.. theyre 6".
A genuine 6.5" woofer will normally need some slight massaging to get it in.

damn i knew someone would correct me....
I was led to believe they were 6.5, i fitted 6.5" speakers in my doors no problems, they line up perfectly

*edit, had a bit of a search and from what i gather the holes are 6" but many 6.5s will fit in alright as long as they are too deep and dont hit the windows or the grill on the door

Krysisdog, didnt notice your post above mine, thought the last one was the question

Trust me, most 6.5s arent actually 6.5" speakers, which is why nearly every 6.5" fitted to Falcon doors actually fit okay. It normally takes an expensive 6.5" speaker (as it will be a genuine 6.5) to show this, and if you own a Falcon chances are you wont be buying the exxy gear

I have the Jaycar Response 6.5" 80W 4Ohm, Yeah, they go very loud, but the magnet is HUGE! I have to make some 12mm wooded spacers for them because the electric window hit the magnet lol.

Laticia.

I didn't like the idea of bastardising my door and have them in the boot next to the amps. You also don't really want them exposed to the elements and you want access to them to adjust. Another spot is under the passenger seat; drivers seat if you don't have electric seats. If you wanted to be fussy, try not to run the audio cables near any high current wires. And/or you can use shielded audio cables to "filter" the noise. The real danger with noise though is the HU to amplifier RCA cables.
