Pricing is normal given that it's in the us. If you were to buy something by the time you add freight (which is significant from the US) + GST + import tax it works out about comparable with Aus but you have the old issue of qwarranty and getting support.

i worked out that it was a US based site but still to me the stuff seemed pretty cheap. then again i didnt think about frieght and import tax and all the rest of it.

Freight form the US is very expensive. I was supprised how dear it was. I bought a cymbal that is not very heavy and not vey big and it cost $60AUD to get it here just in shipping...

how do you pay tax on that stuff, if they send it to you buy mail how does it get taxed.

It may or may not get taxed.
Customs hold it up and wont release it until you pay the tax and import duties on it to them… They will contact you as the addressee.
