Personally i reckon their stuff is pretty good, and very reasonably priced IMO. I've purchased various terminals, connectors, cabling, distribution blocks etc etc from Jaycar and they all seem to be good quality. As facer01 said, i purchased a set of 6" Kevlar Response Precision splits (CS2327) a few months back from Jaycar for my EF and was surprised at how well they perform, sound quality was great compared to some of the more expensive splits i have heard and the best part was they were very affordable. From memory i paid something like $80 for them as Jaycar had a big clearance on Response gear at the time.

I have heard/read that Jaycar has discontinued the "Response" range since then (still seem to selling Response amps on their website though?) and have gone on to supplying "Vifa" gear which is a bit expensive IMO - i have no idea about this Vifa brand though so it might be best to ask around and have a look around on some car audio forums.

What kind of audio parts are you after? I'm sure there is lots of Fordmodder's running audio gear from Jaycar, so maybe throw up some model numbers of things you are interested in and people might be able to give you their thoughts on them. Also check out the link that FordFairmont posted up earlier, i had a quick random look on there the other day and their prices seem to be pretty decent

Quality is good. Value for money is excellent - dont expect fantastic quality and you'll be more than happy.

I've got Jaycar Response Splits in the front of mine and they sound rather good. And I had 6x9's (For Sale Room  ) in the back parcel shelf when I bought the car, which sounded really good as well. I only removed them because I was running a sub so I wanted 6's for more mid/high.

What are using the amp for? What RMS is the amp? If one has a 50 amp fuse it will be fine...

12V x 50 amps = 600 watts.

That fuse is there to protect the cable and your car. Not the amp, the amp has its own fuses.

Jaycar make some good amps, but if you want the best for your money, go to Mobile Electronics Australia and they will give you the best advice. There are a lot of smart people over there.

Viva is a home audio diy brand that is well renound. Think peerless, scan speak etc. Havnt listened to the speakers your talking about but they shoudnt be too bad.

Get the speakers quick! The reason Jaycar are selling them all cheap is that they are no longer manufacturing the response speaker brand..

Their amps have won numerous awards...

I used to work for a stockist and we had a response sound wall... Had a 10" sub various speakers and a cap and two amps... And sounded very good...

Again not as crystal clear as focal but nowhere near the cost...

That fuse is there to protect the cable and your car. Not the amp, the amp has its own fuses.

Just remember music power and electrical power are not related...

If an amp has 600W of music power than I can guarantee it will not use 600W of electrical power... I'm pretty sure its more electrical power... Due to losses inside the amplifier and the uneven transfer rate... 50 amps is only 8awg cable and that's what I have running to my baby 200Watt (i think) in my car for the parcel sub, although its massively oversized for its job...

a 600W amp would surely want 4awg cable... and jaycar's rating on that is 110amps... safer and less hassle to be oversized... always remember to fuse at the battery... The amp's fuse protects its internals, not the cable you run to it...

Cheers...
