Hey sound gurus,

Have an FG MkII with the luxo pack and wanting to upgrade the sound, but keep everything looking as standard as possible. I've never been a fan of line level converters, as in the cars I have been in with them to some extent have noise introduced. I'm hoping going down the processor route and avoid this. Looking for:

a) any feedback on processors on the market (or other options), as have never used them before and most of the material I have found is either sales reviews or people arguing over which ones rocket launching capabilities are best; and
b) feedback on ute set up (see proposal below).

Looking for SQ over volume, but a modest increase in volume would be nice.

I've been doing a fair bit of looking around at options and thinking:
1. JBL MS-8 - which should deal with high level input problems, and provide RCA outs for a sub and 8 x 20w for speakers
2. Running tweeters and 4" midrange in the door, and 6.5-8" midbass speakers in back corner of cabin (one 20w channel each)
3. Running a modest amp and 8" or 10" slimline sub behind the console.

Cheers

Sounds like a good plan. I just got a cheaper LC6i AudioControl to replace the cheap nasty converters I got from jaycar.
Unfortunately haven't put it in the car yet so can't give you my personal experience, but had a few mates who do car audio for work say they think it's the best price v performance at the moment
