Hi guys, can you help a stupid pom??

Firstly, i've brought over my old kenwood head unit from the UK, it's a KDC-M7024, will it work over here?

Secondly, i own a BA Futura, i've seen (in a few of your galleries) that alot of you guys have fitted your own head units in the tissue tray. Do you just unplug the standard unit and plug the new one in?? Or is it more complicated than that?
Also i guess i'll need a "facia" to fit the head unit into, are these easy to come by?

I realise these are ridiculous questions to the vast majority of you and for that i appologise, i am a complete novice and know next to nothing about aussie cars (or most cars come to think of it) but im here to learn.

hi mate, hmm looks a bit similiar to my old kenwood mp825 deck before i upgraded to my 9026. With it working here answer is yes, however you may need to get an adaptor for the aerial cable to fit it, europe use a different coaxial plug for the antenna leads. with regards to the BA's, cant answer that one as ive never worked on one but i know several fm ppl have done it so im sure one of them can answer what they did.

Just a question will that face foul on anything when opening if you mount it down low in the tissue tray in the BA?

Also .... radio station ranges might be different in the UK compared to Australia .... but don't quote me on that.

So it might not pick up Aus radio stations.

I know Jap headunits don't work in Australia due to the above.

I don't think so, i did have a look the other day, it should be ok. The face does adjust to 3 or 4 positions so i don't think it'll be a problem.
