Just picked up a JDM spec double din H/U. I know I need the fm expander..

my question is related to the wiring.. more specifially does anyone know if there a pretty much standard wiring loom setup for the kenwood H/U's

When I had my JAP Kenwood H/U (was an RX691MD) is used the standard wiring colours.
Take the loom out of the stereo, and into a store that sells the VDO/Aeropro plugs, and match it up :wink:

hi dc,

firstly i doubt you will need an fm expander, try it without first, ive used a jdm model without one and you get all fm freq's but no am stations.

with the wiring i highly doubt you will get a kit here for it, simply follow the below as im fairly certain kenwood follows the same wiring loom

Yellow = +12
Black = -12 (ground)
Red = +12 access.
white = front left
grey = front right
green = rear left
purple = rear right
Blue = amp cont
Blue/white = elec areial cont(if available, if not use blue)
Brown = phone mute (if avail)

Hope this helps, if you need any more info let me know. Nice lookin deck by the way

Cheers
