Shazza, what are you on?

If you have dulling lights from bass pulses, 1st thing to do is ensure you are running appropiate cable size. Battery to amp, amp to chassis and battery to chassis. What ever I am running for the power to the amp, I fit same from Battery to chassis. THe original earth in cars are good for the stock electricals.

Be sure that you remove paint whn bolting to earth!

As a very last resort, fit Cap. For now don't.

EXACTLY. Maybe even use bigger for the earth, (when using 8 gauge use a 4 gauge earth. Doesn't hurt anyone)

You dont want to put to much stress on the stock cable from the chassis to the battery. As LTDHO said, they are good for stock electricals, trying to add an extra 500 watts to that or so is not goin to do it any favors.

A bigger ground will cost you 20 bucks at most. 4guage cable is 10 bucks a metre, so 5 bucks for half a meter and 2 ring terminals and wallah just like magic ;)

You should be running atleast 4 guage wiring, but personally I would be running 2 guage with that setup assuming your battery isn't in the boot.
