Location: sydney

hey kids.... ive just got my hands on a new xr6turbo ute and couldnt get the prestige system cause they said they couldnt fit the amp and woofer in the cabin so i settled for the 100w six stacker instead and decided to put my amp+woofer from my old car in...
now learning from this forum that there isnt rca jacks in the back of the standard deck doesnt suprise me just disapointing which raises a question of how do ford fit their amp+woofer??
which brings me to the next Q this "line level converter" thingy how does this work does it simply piggy back onto the speaker out if so would the rear be the best one to hook to???
and does this converter have the rca jacks how does it work??
or is it the amp that does the work??
and one last query is hard to fit??

sorry for all the questions but i dont wanna go rippin into the wiring of my brand new ute!!

piss easy to fit
works in line with speakers

ie deck to line level convertor to amp to speakers

will convert from speaker wires to RCA jacks

personally, i'd connect the LLC to the front speaker wires, especially given most peoples tendancy to fade the stereo towards the front when they get a sub....

WOW great response time thanks guys...
so does the LLC just piggy back to one speaker + - does it matter how far down the line i connect it?? cause in the ute the woofer is going right behind the seat for additional massage value whicch will also be right next to the speaker so if i piggy back there it would be easier

i'd be plugging it to the back if it's a ute. if there are rear speakers jsut unplug them and listen to the front ones?

then you can fade from the deck to change volume difference between fronts and sub.

Contact ASL Logistics.

They are in Melbourne, Braeside to be exact. The are the importers and warranty / aftermarket support of all FMS gear.

Have a look at: http://www.asllogistics.com/ford_upgrades.html
$220 to get rca outs. But from memory, they say this will void your warranty. Something they neglect to put on their website.

They let you do a swap from prestige audio to the premo unit as well... For a price though.

i did a search and jaycar sell em for $23.95 so $115 seems a bit steep to me...
im not going to unplug the rear speakers ive got the fade slighty to the rear so it sounds central and the sound quality is (to me anyway) fantastic
I just want that extra boom from the woofer its just a 1000w boss 12" from strathfield car radio in a box with a 500w amp dunno its make but it works a treat...

Its up to you which one you get.

I have had and heard about plenty of noise troubles from cheaper brand ones including taeropro and the jaycar ones but its up to you what you go with...

if you have a 2 channel amp, can you just piggy back off the rear speakers with out causing any damage to deck / amp / speakers. Like go from Deck to speakers, then off to LLC & To AMP???

hmm i have heard of the cheap ones blowing peoples amps aswell, and i saw one at jaycar, actually they have a couple, from $16 and up to about $38, but i just didnt want to risk blowing my amp, but it doesnt matter now anyway, bcuz i didnt put either in and have decided against a system and am now selling my lineout converter (which has won sum awards) and jaycar precision response amp in the for sale section...
