Well after getting my new system which consisted of focal speakers and rockford amps and 1 sub, my mate decided he would go out and try one better. he went for Mb quartz speakers but after he installed them we were both pretty disapointed.
The rear speakers sounded ok but when ever you turn them up the tweeter in them seems to turn off or right down.....it sort of cuts out till you bring the volume back down. Is this normal?? And then we installed his front speakers and they distort really bad, from low volume to high volume they just sound terrible. Any idea's on what the problem could be??. I thought it may have been something to do with the amp but after connecting my focal tweeter to it, it sounded perfect. I havnt got exact details on the mb quarts speakers he put in but his amps are all currant rockford punch series. He used very good speaker wire, the shielding on it is very very thick. Oh and the car is a 90's toyota surf. And the headunit is an eclipse. any idea's would be much appreciated as freeway audio will probobly be closed all this week so we cant go whinging to them Cheers fellas
