Hi
I have just upgraded my trusty XF for an EL and
I have a basic Pioneer Mp3 /cd player 1 Year old to replace the original unit.

is there any way when wiring this up that the power on for 1 hour with no key feature in the original system can be incorperated to the Pioneer unit or is this part of the body contro unit

Does one of those wiring kits do the job Iam not after high power etc just want cd /mp3

The timer feature is not BEM controlled - it's done within the original head unit.

Yes, unless you can wire it up to power on using the constant 12V, but that could cause a shorter battery life.

Hes not asking to be able to run the new Headunit continously but to use the power off after 60min function incorporated to the standard decks....

As far as I know you cant as its a circuit on the standard HU system board...you could get a timer relay so that when the ignition/acc is off the circuit will run and auto cut off after 60mins or wat ever you like....shouldnt be a problem....

Oh right, I see now.

Basically it is, as has been said, a neat trick that the stock headunits have as a feature whereby they run for an hour off constant 12V and then power down until switched power is fed through and resets the timer.

Clever, but no, it's not anything to do with the car, just the head unit.
