Hey guys, any of you know a good place to get them musical horns oh like them really loud truck horns. I remember that someone on FM1 put a truck horn they found on the net in idle chit chat and was like 180dbs. I had three compressors on it. Do any of you know where to get em from.
Cheers. I thought i would post this here as it is regarded as audio |

Well truck horns are best gotten from truck part stores, theres a few around cranbourne in the SE melb area, one called Truck Bits or Parts, try there i would.
Musical horns being illegal im not sure, maybe ebay or over the net is an easier option?

Although musical air horns are most definately illegal, I believe single note air horns are ok. However I would check the legallity of installing a 180db horn on a car, thats one very f**king loud horn!

I got one of those horns with all the different functions. It plays via a little contorl box thingy in the cabin and has cow, pig, dog sounds etc, 16 different Mr Whippy tunes, police sirens and various other crap as well as a mic input so it can act like a pa system lol. Can play some pretty good tricks on people with it, e.g. letting off a massive cow moo sound as i drove past a kid on a bike he nearly crashed into the gutter lol

thats a really good trick. i was cruising in my mates 1982 landcruiser wagon with 10" of lift (!!) with a PA system. i'm not sure of the entire song name, but in appocalypse now when the choppers are about to blow the town to pieces they play that classical piece by wagner?? yeah, we played that all the way through the song and got some really weired looks.

How did you get your hands on that?? Also it is highly illegal to imitate a police siren

ride of the valkyries by wagner. i thought i was the only one that liked that song. another good song is O Fortuna by carl orff. That one will get u weird looks. i got triple airhorns (not musical) in my falcon. $50 at repco. they are narva. i think if u hookd 2 or more sets of these up, they would have a great effect. dunno about achieving 180db though. that would destroy your hearing. Snow_white, u can get those pa thingos off ebay. i think it is the company called online performance like twr7cx said.

If a truck horn is legal on trucks why wouldnt they be legal on cars? Bear in mind a truck air horn has roughly 100 psi of air pressure being pushed through it. They do make an air horn kit for trucks without air brakes (horns run off these air tanks) that comprise an electric compressor. Dont think they push any where near 100 psi so wouldnt be as loud.

You can buy a train air horn for about $160. And it's like a what the trains use. Autobahn sell them, it has two horns, and the gas canistor is about the size of your glovebox, if not bigger. lol
How do those multi-tone things run? Do they plug into cigarette lighter? or wat?
