Couldnt disgaree more. EQ is a vital function, especially in cars where the environment is never the same.

If all cars were the same size, shape, made of the same material then yeah - shouldnt be a need for EQ.

One also must consider the inconsistency of CD recordings. For example, i notice most CD's i have which were produced in 2003 have a lot more "meatier" (bass, sub bass, low-mid-md) ranges to them than, say, a CD recorded in 1994. Obviously this reflects the 'style' of the producer but if i need to up 100hz to hear the bass guitar better than "was intended" then so be it.

Also have to consider that not everyone hears the same frequencies in the same manner as other people. As you age, your hearing's response to higher frequencies will fall.

Nothing wrong with EQs if you know what you're doing.

XRFAN - nero rocks!!! Also like the ability to burn CD text.

I personally proberly wouldnt do it unless the music you are burning is of very bad quality in the 1st place, but then why bother burning it?
I dont like the idea of changing the music that much myself, if anything change the EQ settings on your equipment if your speakers dont fill a certain frequency range that well..
I dont use my EQ really, however i do set the loud feature to high as it makes speech much more clear for watching movies and also gives a better all round sound in my situation, this understandable as i havnt upgraded my speakers yet; however with music i rather have a cleaner/natural sound - but most importantly what sounds good to me! 8-)

i use my eq heaps, juss cause different music responds differenly on the bass scale, never really added bass or treble to a cd before, mainly i reduce it to improve quality, adding too much causes too much distortion

One of the reasons i found this out.. I was sick of the quality of my downloaded music so i was looking for a way to increase the quality a little bit/ or alot should i say.

Some of the mp3's i was downloading were only a 128 bitrate which is s**t as compared to my other ones which were 300+ so thats why i was doing it.

LOL yeah it is due for an upgrade!

My HU only has bass boost, sub control, bass and treble control. Plus Loud feature.

Other than that no real in depth EQ feature.

LOL dont worry guys im now sick of editing the songs, too much f**k hassle

It was good to try out but i would rather just listen to it normally. Probally thrashed the hell outta my sub as it was producing more sub bass at lower volumes than it was b4. :?

But yeah i least i know its there now. Thanks for your opinons thou :P
