I entered in a local db Racing comp yesterday.

With my stereo really tuned for SQL rather than SPL i put out a fairly good clean 128.7db, only .4db out of getting into the final.

i'm only running my 3 ten inch subs off one channel of a $360 amp, so i was quite happy with the result.

I heard about your little dilema with the screen being so close to the microphone. bummer.

I might enter into the NATS, have to do some tuning and maybe a bigger amp. see how we go. I was happy with 128.7 considering i had only 2 mins notice to choose a CD and get ready, i had one run only before the finals, maybe with a better CD or song choice i would have done better.

Maybe next time.

What is the story with the meter and the screen?

high 120's is pretty good first up effort.

What amp powering it.

To give you some comparison

My original SQ system got 131db with a single 15" in SQ box
My mates car got 126 with 2 x Vennon 12's and 300rms between them.

its a US Audio Amp says 900W on it but it really isn't, only cost me $360 about 3 years ago form autobarn, bridged to 2 channel. my subs are Lanzar, dual voice coil 6ohm, so wired up correctly you can run the from 1 channel at 4ohm.

i only had 2 mins to set it up and choose a disc as it was my first and only run in the comp before the finals.

Poor concorde only had about 2 mins notice.

I was driving past AudioTech in Tuggeranong, noticed the who hah and gave him a call said you'd better get down here. He rocked up paid entry fee, scrambled though CD collection for a Bass Mekanic CD, and lined up.

sweet result there bro. i member one time someone put a phone in my car that had a db reader and it topped 120, so i have no idea what mine pulls. i can't wait to hear it tonight though.

With the nats, SQ is every year, but concorde you would have to enter into street pro as street only allows 2 subs...
