Hi ppl,
Thought I would share some pics of my sound system install that I have been working on for the past few weeks.

I have uploaded them to my hosting, so you can view them here: http://home.exetel.com.au/voxace/data/sound.html

I just went with all jaycar stuff because I was on a pretty tight budget, but I am very happy with how it sounds.
The sealed box and carbon fibre sub has plenty of punch, and the splits amped in the sound deadened doors sound fantastic too.

Boot doesn't rattle either as it has been filled up with gap filler, and then sound deadened. I also sound deadened in the wheel arches, and have cut out a lot of road noise.

Cheers,
Dave[/url]

I just used brushcote sound deadener from supercheap auto. Went through about 5L of it.
It's not going to be as good as dynamat or something like that, but it's cheap - and I applied it quite liberally!

With the MDF wall, I just used a jigsaw to cut it out. I had to make several trips back and forth til I got it right. Once it fit perfect I just glued the carpet to it, and then screwed it to the subwoofer box.

as i have found installing steros to quite a few e -series now the latest been my girls ef xr8 that some speakers do not line up with the standard ford holes one such brand i just found out today(on the girls xr) is hertz they wont line up so a spacer has to be used to get it secrued there are bound to be other brands that dont fit but this is one i have discovered

How does it feel Voxace to complete such a task :D...don't you just hate running back and forth trying to make things fit? I sure had to do that with my install...which is now finished too :D (check gallery if you can be bothered).

BTW how much did you pay for the sound deadener from super cheap? I am guessing it works better then nothing?

phong =P~

Ahh paid $300 for the HU, although loved my 6350 too, just didn't have MP3 support.

And the speakers didn't even come close to fitting in the parcel shelf, which I wasn't expecting. I didn't want to run spacers, but I didn;t want to cut the parcel shelf either.

Oh and that's a VERY nice install there too!

And, I think the sound deadener was $40 for 4L.
