Gday all, Just thought I'd start a thread detailing my gradual install.

Car - 1993 EBII Fairmont Ghia sedan.
Head Unit - Alpine 7893r MP3 player.
Front Speakers - Soundstream RF60C 6.5" 2-way splits.
Front Amp - Clarion Vnet 4100 bridged to ~ 200wrms x2.
Rear Speakers - Pioneer TS-C1625 6.5" 2-way plits.
Rear Amp - Fusion FE-1002 @130wrms x2.
Subwoofer - None Yet.
Monoblock Amp - None Yet.

From the front I'm using Stinger terminals running 4 guage into a Stinger digital fuse holder (160A) then onto a Stinger digital fused distribution block.
I'll be then running 8 guage to each amplifier then 16 guage Kicker speaker wire to the speakers.
I built my own door pods for the front speakers and covered them in grey velour. The rear speakers slotted straight into the existing speaker holes in the parcel shelf and I positioned the tweeters where the seatbelt retracts.

I havent run the cables or mounted the amps yet and will hopefully do so very soon. So far I have done all the under bonnet work. I have to put the sound deadener in as well yet.

Its a work in progress at the moment and have basically just gathered pieces from here and there, I havent chosen a subwoofer or sub amp yet.

Thanks but it will be a little while before I can afford to purchase them. I'm still tossing up between a 2x 12" or 1x 15" setup..... I want loud, thumping bowel irritating bass.
Oh and i'll be getting an Optima battery soon too.

Well today I used my roster day to nearly finish the install.... I ran a common ground in the boot with 4 gauge to a distribution block then 8 guage grounds to each amp. I mounted both amps and the fused distribution block to the back of the rear seats and also ran 3 sets of RCA leads and 2 lengths of 16 guage kicker speaker wire.
I was quite suprised the amps fitted in nice and snug with minimal cutting of boot trim. I tuned both amps and my god the mid and high range sound frikkin sweet... all thats missing is some low bass but that shouldnt be too far away with tax time coming.

Heres some more pics....

Subs are 2x Soundstream Reference RW-12s (600wrms each) and will be going into my homemade ported enclosure when I finish it...... 3.5cu nett volume with 2x 3"x9.5" ports tuned to 30Hz.

How would the subs shake them to pieces if the subs are facing the back of the car?

just wondering you say the 6.5's went straight into the back? were the original speakers 6"?

also, have you got any pictures of where you ran your wires to the front from the amps?

Yeah it had the original 6" stocko speakers in the parcel shelf. The 6.5" Pioneer splits went straight in flush and even used the same 3 holes that were used to mount the stockers.
I dont have any pics of the cable run but I drilled a new hole near where the steering column goes through the firewall, then ran the cable above the pedals, around behind the kick panel and along the sill to the back.

Now I have to make a shelf to bring the floor of the boot up to help support the bloody heavy box.
