I need to know real quick which tab on pioneer speakers is positive and negative in regards to the small and large tabs. And before you say dumb C*** ther are no markings on the speakers.
BTW Did I mention I need to know yesterday....

Try both
Listen to them, you'll tell if they are wrong, when speakers are out of phase they sound weird as. I had the same problem when I did mine Something in the back of my mind says big is positive, small is negative, but theres a 50% chance that could be wrong

also, if your ever not sure, get a battery (9V will do) and apply it to the terminals, if the cone pops out, its the wrong way around, it should pull in.

^ now that is an interesting piece of info. Will be using that tomoro on door speakers as I am unsure of their wiring.
Thanks Smiley

Speakers don't sound weird out of phase by themselves btw, only if they are out of phase relative to other speakers.

Should clarify, two speakers in stereo out of phase sound weird, the sound becomes seperated and sort of 'hollow' sounding.

It's actually the opposite to that. It pops forwards when the battery is connected the correct way. So if you connect a battery and the cone pops forward, whichever terminal is touching the positive of the battery is the positive. I just tested with a labelled speaker to confirm before I posted. 1.5V AA work fine aswell. |
