FYI there are a few manufacturers who are now making aftermarket 5x7 component split systems,

clarion / alpine do im sure, and probably a few others too !

Isn't that info in the owner's manual?
I have all the factory sound info I need in my ED manual....

You could also try the Ford website...

Alpine make some nice SPS-571A - they're 40 RMS, have a separate crossover network and tweeters...a good plug n play upgrade for AU's IMO.

To answer your second question, Pretty sure there aren't RCA preouts on the AU decks...in saying this, I know someone who may be able to put RCA preouts on it for you

Also, if you're leaning towards oval shaped speakers, AU owners have the luxury of fitting 6X9's in their doors with a bit of a baffle for a tight squeeze - I'd recommend Total Recoil 6X9's if you're after some serious 6X9 sounds...otherwise Boston Rallies or Focal make some great 6X9's.

Cheers,
Steve

virtually any 6" that isnt too deep will fit into an AU/BA front door with minimal plywood mounting.....

AFAIK no stock HU has ever come with RCA preouts

I was aiming for sum decent bass but without a sub and try without adding an amp as i don't want to take up any space in the ute and to keep the cabin as neat as possible

I found the speakers and amp for my ute they are:

Alpine R-series 6x9 SPR-694A
Alpine V-sreies Amp MRP-T220

But i don't know if the 6X9's will be able to go in the back of the ute in the old 5X7 hole?and how they modify the bracket to suit the 6X9's?

if all else fails, cut the existing grille out of the way and mount the speakers on the trim itself (screwed into the steel) and it should space them out far enough to fit in the hole

I am planning to keep the system hidden so the new 6x9's need to be placed in the same position as the orig 5x7's and i need an idea to hide the new alpine amp?
I have no idea how the 6x9's could go in?

see if you can find out how much room is between the rear speakers and the grille that goes over them, maybe theres enough room to space the 6X9's out a bit further so you dont have to cut anything

why not mount the amp under a seat?
