I just started my custom install yesterday and im pretty bloody pleased with myself.

Ive kept it functional and its in a way a mix between Ebturb and Pyroay's (and prolly a whole lot more) Installs.

Its going to be all carpeted and boxed up like ebturb's with a sub box similar to Pyroays (but nowhere near as awesome)

Heres a pic of the subs from cabin, ill either carpet or spray black all the white under the panel to make it look better. My other pics are crap atm.

So far all materials have cost just over $100, 1 sheet of 8x4 mdf, 4sqm carpet, 2 3.8m pine planks, 1 can black spray paint.

I have a pane of soundproof glass too which i was pondering cutting to make the glass panel for the back of the box, do i want sound proof / Resistant glass in my box? or so i want some sound to enter the boot to make more noise?

Does anyone have ideas on lighting effects or styling for the box inside and out? I dont know wheather to paint the front (boot side) or carpet it like the rest.

Top one is so neat and clean looking, and such a perfect fit! Really sensational! Not blingy, just practical!

Took me 8 hours yesterday to do the sub panel and the floor, itd want to look good.

Im really happy with the floor cause you can hardly see where it lifts out.

Stoked with the carpet too, cost me $31 for 4sqm at clark rubber, compared to $36sqm at autobarn.

dont you have the full carpet in the boot? both my fairmonts (and dads fairmont) have the carpet up the boot and connects to the back of the rear seats, so all metal and flooring is hidden

Excuse the s**t quality, my mate borrowed my proper camera.

Today i built the sub box, sprayed it and cut some mirrored glass to sit on the floor of the box, i siliconed it in and im hoping itll float on the silicone and wont crack when i crank the volume.

I also made the backing panel of the sub box and cut it out then added a pane of double glazed glass to it.

Heres a s**t paint pic of what it looks like.

Only things left to so is make the sides and wire it all up.

If only those subs were a little more showy...
