Hey folks,

Just got a new car and its time to do the audio again. its a BA XR6.

I want a system that i can crank but still has nice clarity. Any advice on speaker setup or brands.. In my last car i had amp'd 6 X 9's in the parcel, sub in the boot and ampd 3 ways in the front and it was a bad setup as all the sound and bass came from th rear.

so...splits in the front and 6 inch in the rear pls 2 12's in the boot

3 ways in the front, 6 inch in the rear and subs in the boot?

depends on the amount of money you have, i would love a nice set of splits in the front that could handle at least 100 to 150 wrms each, and a nice 12 in the boot, if tuned right the bass sounds like its coming out the front, i personally don't have rear speakers

How much you wanna spend all up?

Front Splits - 2ways
300-400 odd $$:
Hertz HSK165
Boston Acoustics S60
Alpine Type-R SPR-17S
MB Quart DSF-216
Focal 165V1
Digital Designs (which is DD) DDC-6.5a
Morel Dotech 6

For more $$ you can look at:
~$500:
Focals
Boston acoustics SL60
MB Quart RVF-216/DSG216
Boston SX60
DD DDW6.5set
Morel Hybrid Ovation 6

~$800:
Focal 165K2P
Hertz MLK165
DLS UP6
MB Quart PVF216

~$1k+:
Boston Acoustics Z5/Z6/Pro60
Dynaudio System 222/242
Morel Supremo 6
OZ Audio OZ180CS
Polk SR6500
DLS UR6i/Iridium6.2i/Nobelium

Okay then. For amps you'll only need 2, one for the fronts and a mono for the sub. Dont even think about amping the rears... or even changing them..

4 channels will allow you to run bridged or active.
Run fronts, either bridged or active.
~ $500:
Alpine MRV-F345
DD C4a
Audison SRx4
Alpine MRP-F450
Audiosystem F4-60l

~ $800:
Audiosystem F4-380
Alpine MRV-545
Eclipse XA4000

Monoblocks @ ~ 1000bux include
Audison LRx1.1k
Alpine MRD-M1005
PDX11000
Focal FP1.800
OZ Audio OZVA700.1
Earthquake PHD2000W
Rockford T10001bd/T1500-1bd/T500-1bd/P1000-1bd

Subs, @ 12". For the amps listed above, 2 cheaper ones would really be needed
~ $300-400:
Alpine Type-R SWR-1222D
JL Audio 12W3v3-4
DD2512a
Treo TSi 12.4
Rockford P2D2/4, P3D2/4
$500- $1000:
Boston G512/SPG555
DD 3512/2512
Focal 27KX/33KX/40KX
Treo SSi 12.44/22 SSX 12.22
IDMAX12
Alpine Type X
Morel Ultimo
Polk SR124SVC
OZ Me 12.4
Rockford T112D2/4/T212D2/4

So... what h/u you looking to run? stock with a 360 or similar, or aftermarket like an Alpine in the tissue holder?
