As far as speaker sizes go if you dont want to utilise spacers or mdoify the door then 6" will be about as big as you can go ... some brands do a small 6.5" that will fit just depends on he supporting bracket/outer arms/casing etc the speaker is supported by...

Personally I'd go a good set of 5.25" or 6" with spacers... I'm using 5.25" at the moment and for nice clear high end and a bit of mid, they do the job.

about rustyef... EA's use a 65amp altinator and i have a MTX monoblock that was running a kicker 12 inch sub and at full power i didnt even get dimming. i know it isnt HUGE but even still, its not exactly small either. i have just upgraded my system with more to come. ill even do a video for those interested. one before the cap and one after. ill just borrow my mates 1 farad cap.

Timmy Connors, we dont mind people coming on to find out information but its when people come in and start throwing out bad information is when people start spending too much money on bad systems.

i think its going to be an awesome setup in a few days when its done.

if you check out CAA/(haha forgot new name - old name was better tho)
you will find alot of tutorials. i read up on setting up an amp PROPERLY not just turning it to full.

its full of useful information and most of all CORRECT information as they are all big on car audio.

i also have a thread in the audio section feel free to check out. my new box gets made in a few weeks

And freakin amen to that! I was all excited and happy with my little setup until I started really looking at some of the gear people are using... i.e. this set up... Now I no longer feel as cool :( So much to do... so little money to spend

oh and my mates scam of me too... they are always getting free car parts or free labor off me... i really should charge a hourly rate... then i wont need to work. :P

do mechanical, than you work at the mines, don't have to go underground, get paid more, and when you get sick of living in kalgoolie you have a huge scope of jobs available

but back on topic.....depends what your budget is for splits, i run hertz HSK165's at the moment (got them for $300), they're alright, really good midbass but a bit harsh up high, my mate has rockford spllts and they seem alright, expensive though
