i've got a bit of a problem after installing a new HU to replace the broken old one from my ED falcon. I've been using the standard "premium" sound system and up untill now no problems but the head unit packed up recently and i've installed another unit that i had lying around the house. Now i'm not too experienced with installing car stereos so the problem i've got is probably pretty simple to solve but i've got no idea

The problem i'm facing is that the old HU has an 8 pin DIN plug that runs to the amp powering the s.w and speakers at the back. The new HU i've put in only has RCAs for that i/o and so far i've been driving around with only my front speakers running. Is there any way i can get an adaptor or maybe replace the DIN to get my rears working? Even chopping off the DIN plug and wiring it manually would be ok but only if i know which points are which.

I don't know the pinouts for the DIN end but is this the cable you currently have? Maybe other members can give you the correct answer.

yeah that looks the infamous DIN plug that i 've got. It's good to finally see how it all ends up at the amp end. Thanks for that!

I probably could rewire everything all the way back to the amp without using it but not being all that skilled in car stereo installs (and not really wanting to start opening/removing bits of the interior trim) i hope i'll get some info that'll let me just link the HU straight in.

I don't know if there is such a thing but you would need an 8 pin Female DIN to Male RCA To plug to your HU.

Or you could get and adapter for the DIN side and have another one of the same cable going to the HU??
So...
you would connect the rca side to the HU then the DIN side to the adapter, Adapter to DIN side of cable and the rca to the amp or speakers?
If that made sense i don't know if that would work but the logic is correct and should work in practical.
