I just chucked on layby these JL Audio Speakers..

Just wanting to get your guys opinions on them, are they worth it etc.

My plan atm is to have decent 2-way in the front, and place some 6x9's in the back for the time being. Then when i get more money, ditch the 6x9's and get subs amps etc.

But atm i just want to get rid of the stock speakers lol. So good idea?

Was $600 for all the speakers together, got it for $450 so im happy bout that :)

Below are the links, tell me what you guys think

I've got both of them in my ute and they are good, only let down i have is the standard ba icc :( Both are on a amp, have heard the 6x9s without an amp and still sound alright. Though i have been told if you run the splits without an amp you can stuff em? Dont know how true that is though

I have the JL VR's in the front and TR's in the rear along with a JL 10" sub.
The VR's IMO sound great. Definately go for them even if others tell you go for this or that brand.

6x9s....... Waste of money as your going to buy a sub anyway.

JL make very good amps (eg 1000/1) and subs too. Speakers should be alright.
If you were to go Hertz I think the HSK165s are very good budget priced component speakers.

Also when someone says 2ways they are normally reffering to coaxials with a single tweeter.

Get a good amp >50rms to get the best out of them. Running them off the headunit is fine, but wont be as loud or clear as an amp.

i have the hertz hsk 165's in my xr8 and they have incredible clarity and bass. you can get hertz speakers designed purely for clarity but it depends on what you are after and how much u want to spend. like krisisdog said, they are a good price, especially for the quality of them :) my opinion may sound biased but i origionally laybyed a complete jl system with a w6 12" sub but after hearing the hertz range i cancelled the jl system and got hertz. top speakers.
