Hey guys... I'm sick of my makeshift boot install that I whipped up in a matter of hours so I'm building myself a brand new one!

Same amps, Response 4x100wrms and Response 1x820wrms.

New sub... Soundstream Tarantula T4 12" sub. Rated at 900wrms and built for SPL. 200oz magnet and runs twin 1.3ohm voice coils so it can run at a true 1ohm load when wired in parallel.

Custom built ported box. Roughly 45ltrs. Tuned to about 31Hz.

And a pair of 6x9" speakers just so I can hear the mix when the boot in open.

New new build is not going to be too fancy, very similar to my current one, just neater and more compact/practical. I can't get my bass guitar in there!!

Will keep informed. I will hopefully be making a start next week.

Was mainly just chuffed that I got the new sub! Only payed $310 too as it was floor stock :D

those Soundstreams hammer ay! My mate has a T5 15'' in the back of his VS, and the amp to run it needs its own battery lol.

i swear u could see the whole car move up and down from the bass though

I was initially going to get a T5 but this guy had one last T4 left and they're virtually identical.

Not to mention, when the bloke tested it in the store he ran a bass testing CD through it and no joke... it blew one of the flouros in the roof!

That sold it :D

Well I got stuck into it today.

All I'm really changing is the size of the sub box and the thickness of the timber used for the false floor and sub box. I'm also re-mounting my amps flush with the false walls.

I ended up constructing a 46.2 litre box out of 18mm MDF which I'm going to fit a 80 x 220mm port to. This should work perfectly for my new sub.

I didn't take any photos as I just got stuck into it and didn't stop til it was dark!! :)

I've almost finished the new floor. I used 18mm MDF for the floor as well. Major overkill but it actually ended up cheaper!

Box is also finished. Soaked in silicone :D and looks like s**t but that doesn't matter! It'll be hiding behind a false wall.

No pics means people won't care too much but oh well! Should be finished by tomorrow :D

People still aren't caring :)

Install is all done except for floor and sub wall carpeting.

Sub PUMPS!

Will try to get it carpeted tomorrow and then DEFINITELY post pics.

All done...

The sub kicks a***. The 6x9s are completely rubbish but they'll do for now.

As people can see... The install still looks similar to how it was before but believe me, it's a hell of a lot neater and stronger this time...

Here's pics...
