It's great mate. Honestly.

Looks stylish, has screensavers, wallpapers. A bunch of equalizer settings. 3 RCA outs, so it's great for a big system, and puts out a fair bit of power by itself.

MP3/WMA, you can't go wrong.

The store you are purchasing it from should be able to take you through the menus and features of the unit. It is quite a good all round unit by all accounts.

The store should be able to provide detailed info and of course let you have a little play with it to get familiar. Is it a specailist car audio store or JB ?

Get a price from JB or where-eva yu are thinkin, then post it up here, or PM me.. and ill see wat i can do. E-bay.. if theres sumthin similar sellin cheaply, why not.. but i wouldn't on yur deck. Think bout it, its probably the most important purchase for your Audio System.
Carlos,

JB is fine but you wont get the level of knowledge you might need to assist in making the purchase. I have a number of experiences with people there who know little or nothing about various products or worse tell you incorrect information. I would visit a specialist car audio store and spend some time there getting to have a good look at a few brands. They should do a good price if you haggle them a little too and you will get good after sales servies and support. Neither of which you get from E-bay.

As aaron said ... ebay sometimes is good option to save $$$ but when your uncertain or wanna no more about the product before you buy then really only a car audio supplier is gonna be the go.....maybe see a car audio specialist and then when youve discussed all the Head unit features etc then look at buying from Ebay or JBs if u still want that unit.

I bought my DEH-P1Y off ebay. I paid $629 for it about 3-4 months ago ($599 buy it now price, $30 optional postage insurance). The buy it now price included postage. At the time, the RRP on the pioneer website was $1199.
The one that I bought was already in Australia, off an ebay store. I wouldn't buy one that will be shipped from overseas

I thought that I done well.

this is one from the same seller:

Yeah, I've just ordered a Pioneer Amp and Splits (GM-6100F amp and TS-C160R splits) off E-Bay.
Guy based in NSW, with an ABN etc.
I wouldn't go for overseas stuff either, theres the risk of being caught out by customs and having to pay tax on it.

Having said that, I've now been looking around for a Car Audio place on my side of the city to speak to about a suitable head unit.
If anyone's got any recommendations for someone that's good in the western suburbs, please PM me!
