fit 6x9's instead and put the 6.5s in the front doors

what he said. u can always make ur own parcel shelf like i did. Very tedious but it comes out well. u can always get a bit of MDF to cover the exisitng 6x9 holes. and then cut a 6.5" hole into it. carpet it (maybe in a different colour so it looks as though its part of the design). just an idea. thats what i would do if i didnt have the motiviation to do my custom shelf. phong =P~

I've heard before you need an engineer certificate to have the parcel shelf modded since it is structural, so if I was you I would put as much effort as possible into making it look factory

The steel under the parcel shelf is structural but not the carpeted bit on top. Just make some blanks out of 18 mm MDF big enough to cover the existing holes and mount the new speakers in them. I found that a good way to cover MDF is with ordinary felt which can be bought at any fabric store. |

you could either screw it in through the shelve up into the mdf. or back the other way but youd end up with sharp screws sticking through the top of your boot

What's wrong with 6x9's if you already have the holes?

the 6x9s wont work well with 2 x 12" subs and they are crap anyway!
