Big Kev... You don't need to respond to replies not directed at you. eb's question has been answered,

yes its been answered, no need for u or any1 else to argue in here
I asked a question, I didnt need a little b**ch fight ok... so as long as every1 has had there say, then its done. Ive made the decision to use perspex, I said that several posts ago.

I did not start this topic so ppl can have a little ego fight about how knowledgable they r cause every1 has good ideas and have there own ideas and "facts", lets leave it at that

thanks for ur help and thanks Kev, Ill post up pics when I get done.. I just bought some f**k expensive material other day for sub boxes, its like a suedy type stuff, feels so good lol but damn expensive, so hopefully will turn out good... b4 I install it tho, gotta wait for it to rain to make sure i have fixed me leaking boot

i personally haven't made any sub enclosure out of glass and have very little understanding of the applications of it,but i have nade various enclosures out of acrylic and they have sounded better than mdf ones of similar size and equipment(subs, amp etc)i based my opinion on the composite of both materials, acrylic has a much lower resonant point and will absorb a lot of the low energy frequency put out through the sub therfore allowing a larger frequency range to be used without distortion due to resonant waves colliding within the enclosure, with a small system it wouldn't make any difference whatsoever so you would really be choosing acrylic due to its price, ease of fabrication amd the fact it has nearly half the mass of glass, now i have no idea of each materials ability to provide higher db i really have no interest in that only i feel that it would produce better sound quality.

Cool... Thanks for the info :)

eb... I was just pointing out your question had been answered therefore the thread can go off topic :) No one is b**ch fighting or ego fighting, trying to have a discussion on the properties of glass and acrylic.

Perspex is no doubt easier to modify to the shape you want if you have the right tools. Strip heater, moulder, etc. without these... you would have no chance making any good out of your perspex. I know what I'm talking about because I do a lot of work with plastic at school. 7 days til I'm 15 Big Kev

I have found glass to be the way to go.

No dramas with sound quality of my set-up using glass although some here seem to think glass ounds bad? not sure why?

I have no flex issues and it is as solid as.

Cmon AU's can be beasts. Just coz they never won any v8 supercar titles or any Bathurst wins, doesnt mean anything...
