On MEA (CAA) forums they say 2 or 2.5cubic foot tuned to 30Hz. You'd need to do a search for sure.

or get in contact with a decent car audio rep/shop that deals in pioneer gear.... see if theyve tried and specific enclosure sizes vs tuned lenthgs for the ports etc to see whats creating the best result

Yeah, that's what the recommendation on CAA is... It's from a few stores that deal in Pioneer. Apparently, the Pioneer recommended box doesn't sound very good at all.

It would and actually sounds better as the subs specs suit ported enclosures better. They are sold in sealed because it's easier and smaller than ported.

Yeh so long as the enclosure is the right capcity to match the port length and diameter she's all sweet otherwise going ported will just sound terrible ... but spose the same outcome can occur with any enclosure sealed, ported, bandpass etc if its all setup wrong

Gary's are on the other side of the city, don't bother as they're not that great anyway.

Give it a go yourself once you've found out the right enclosure or see Freeway(Dandenong), Stylyn(Box Hill/Moorabin), Phatt Audio(Braeside) or someone else over your side of the city.
