ok, so currently i have this sub in its matching ported box:

would i get more db by changing the driver to something better?
looking to drive it with 250RMS at 4ohms or 400 at 2 ohms? (dual voice coil sub option)
i dunno, anyone have any input?

The answer to your question is - maybe.

You not giving much for us to work with.

Biggest problem with changing subs, is the box you have now, may be bad for another sub, it may be just as good, or even better. Chances are if it's a pre-made box, it isn't all that good anyway.
