Generally, sealed is for sound quality (SQ), ported is when you're chasing db -sound pressure limit (SPL) comps.
Some subs work better in ported boxes, but you need to get the port the right size and length which can be tricky. The Type-S would probably do best in a 2cu. ft. sealed box. Google should be able to answer you more accurately. |

depends really on what music you listen to ported as said will shake the car and run through your body ... basically deep long notes...
sealed good punchy bass.. also where are you planning on putting the box the falcon you have works best mounted under the parcel shelf aimed toward the boot lid.. thats if your like me and have a ported box with a 12"3000wrms spl sub .. for a type s i would be using a sealed box faceing the boot lid mounted under the parcel shelf |

I would go sealed if you listen to rock or any sort of music that has quick drum or anything like that.
Ported if you are an RnB person that likes to shake the car. |

As the others said, a Type S doesn't really suit a ported box. So you will get a little more output than seal but it won't sound very good. You're better off sticking to sealed or buying a sub that suits a ported box.

You have to carefully design a ported box for it. It can sound awesome but it is easier to get good sounding in a sealed box. Dont just buy an off the shelf ported box for it or it will sound bleh! |

Have you tried to design a box for one? I just tried with Bassbox Pro and a ported enclosure does not look good at all. Verry lumpy frequency response unless you go extremely large. |

only really a passing glance with WINISO Pro.

We are saying it will be much MUCH easier to produce a good sound from a sealed box. Sound matting makes the sub think there is more air than there actually is, it also adsorbs some sound. Try with a little lining at first and then add more until you achive the sound your after. Type S is their base stuff. Type E is their economy. Type R is there better stuff and type X is their top shelf. |

OA make a front slot port box. And itss the s**t.
I was running a kicker cvr in one. Plus pushing 800wrms through it. And holy f**k. Made the wiper blades move a good cm. But I blew that sub on a 37degree day with it way to loud. Mother F**k |
