Thanks for the replies, I went out and had a look no Sub... I've then seen that it most likely isnt the premium sound as they come with dual climate control etc? I think mine is just the in between 6 disc stacker with larger screen.

Sounds like Prestige Audio rather than Premo.
The premo option was a full colour TFT screen, but prestige is a larger LCD screen than standard. So a 6 stacker, LCD screen and no amp or sub. |

wrong, if he had the Colour screen he WILL have the sub. otherwise the previous owner has simply dropped a premium sound ICC in there with the 6 stacker.
the prestige sound was a monochrome screen like the XT with a 6 stacker on it, pretty boring. my mates XR8 enforcer has this. do you have tweeters on the front pillars near the dash. if you have the sub its under the grill in the middle of the parcel shelf. |

Where does he say it has a colour screen? Will have to wait for the OP to reply to that one before assuming. b. Fairmonts of the day had a larger mono LCD screen |

yes i know this... as i have one, but it was not optional in the XR, you had premo sound with the colour screen, standard sound with the monochrome screen or prestige with a 6 stacker thrown into it.
it sounds to me our fairmonts just got the bigger monochrome screen put into them to accomodate the dual zone screen without having to spend money on colour screens and taking away from the Ghia |

I believe it's a Prestige Audio with the larger LCD Screen....
I do have the Tweeters on the front pillars near the dash.... the sound system doesnt sound too special the sound system in the 08 Lancer sounded better but then I don't know how sound works in smaller spaces being the XR6 larger inside....... How well does the Presitge audio go with upgraded speakers? im sure it would be better but is it worth the trouble? Phil. |

Unfortunately in all levels of B series audio, the 4 main speakers are powered by a basic amp in the ICC. So the power output is pretty dismal.
Better speaks will always help, but unless you found some lower power ones, they will be underpowered. 2 options are to get line level converters and wire in an amp with decent speakers... Or speak to ASL and they can put RCA line level outs in your standard ICC and you can run an amp straight from them. The other benefit from ASL is they give you a proper amp trigger and you may be lucky they can also give you the 5th sub channel if its on the control board. Oh, and is it a BA1 or BA2? |

It's only a Series 1 BA..... That sounds a good way to go.. but bare with me... ASL ????? |

ASL are the importers and repair agents for the ICC's. They sell a shed load of upgrades and changeover bits and pieces for B and F series Falcons.
Line Out Conversion: {DESCRIPTION} Ipod Aux In: {DESCRIPTION} If you want to get an Ipod in unit, the ASL one is the only one to get. I asked because BA1 didn't have prestige sound as an option, it was more the BA2... But then Ford chop and change their mind as they please sometimes. |
