has any one mounted a PSP in their car yet? and how did they manage to mount it? ive been toying with the idea and whipped up a quick mount for it and just plugged the sound through the head unit input.

the Graphics are realy good on the psp i was suprised, and the sound through the car soundsystem is unreal!

i just godda design a better bracket for it.

should be a pic in my gallery.

I see your PSP's screen is as dirty as mine!, im toying with the idea of getting one of the BIG 2GB memory cards (but at $300 a peice off Ebay im not so sure) and hooking up my PSP like yours, or setting up a CarPC cos im so over changing CD's

Yer those bloody screens grrrrrrr.

You can but a bracket from EB for car mounting, goes on the side of the trans tunnel and has one of those ridged pipe neck dealies and atop that sits the PSP.

Have you guys downgraded to version 1.50 yet? Got homebrew? Ive got about 40 games downloaded that I rotate around my 2x1gig cards. I'll never buy another game again.

i got mine mainly for movies but got the game medievil as well and seems pretty good. i wonder if a tv tuner for psp will come out in the near future of also a burner for umd discs.

but i'll have to wait untill im on nightshift at work again to whip up some kind of a mounting bracket in the car.

Ive got wipeout and V8 supercars for mine,

There are a few hardware hack out there being developed for the PSP, the most promising one being a MS-> Compactflash adapter so you can use the much cheaper CF media (6-8 GB microdrives too). The most promising thing i see about it is that its piss easy to adapt IDE - CF and vice versa, meaning that a laptop HDD could be used as the storage media for the PSP!

sweet it would be good if you can burn a movie or 2 from a standard dvd and then convert it to fit onto a memory card or storage device so you can watch on the psp.

thats easy as, there are a few programs out there that will rip all the data off a DVD, then another to convert those files to .MGPEG, then use the PSP media thing to change to .MP4

Ive got in contact with the guy that developed the MS - CF adapter, as to wether he will give me the circuit diagrams for it so i can make a straight CF-IDE converter, just waiting on a reply

Yeah I have around 60 or so games now all full iso downloads. From version 2.00 just downgrade dude! The only thing you loose is the internet browser, that most ppl dont use anyway, and if ur keen on the internet browser just download wipeout and hack the browser on that! w0ot!1 You still have picture, music and movie funcitonality. Downgrading was the best thing Ive done to it yet.

They have said they will NEVER release a umd burner, for one, its a s**t platform so it would be a waste and it would only serve one purpose to reuine their own psp games market. At E3 they had a GPS unit interfaced with a psp in a display box, and that would be awsome! The best things out the IMO are the extended battery and media mods and the tv out mod is a real head turner!!

Funniest thing is they got raped over the PS2 cause it didnt use static media (memory cards) and now that they have included it in the new product they just get f**k by the hackers out there, mwhahahaha.

Dont need to get on the net with the PSP for homebrew! just download it onto ur computer and then put it on the mem card and ur set! by FAR the best thing u can do. We just found a scumm emulator for the PSP so Im playing monkey island and full throttl at the moment. and we have also found a c64 emulator and around 8000 games that run under that so we're set!

Games on my PSP total now sits at:
scumm games 83
c64 8000+
psp games 68
game boy1 games 34
GBA, SNES, MEGADRIVE games 90
-------------------------
Total 8275+

I wonder how much that would have cost me if I paid for any of them.... hmmmm

GO HOMEBREW!!!

this bracket is exactly what i need pitty about the high postage cost, maybe in the next few months we might see em here. they are almost the same as a moble phone holder. might have to check out super cheap on the weekend, might be able to whip something up out of a drink holder of phone holder for now. but i think my next investment is a greater capacity memory stick or portable storage device.
