I like doing things differently in the car, as it create's interest.

I have a number of unique sub box design ideas for multiple subs just not enough cars or time to work on them.

Throw me some ideas then! I am meeting a mate to do some possible CAD drawings. I have about 400wrms to play with now, so one or maybe two twelves, without taking up too much boot (but it doesn't really matter)

It's either a perspex backed box I'm thinking of, or something more fancy like angled flush mount amps / active crossover on the back of the box.

Part 4 - Display Boxes - Stinger Accessories & Amplifier

I have updated a couple of pics of the subbox too.

The Idea was to display the amplifier and power accessories either side of the sub box with a 4 different colour LED's all running from a chaser to so change from one colour to the next.

I have gone with high brightness LED's
- 8,000mcd in blue
- 20,000mcd in green
- 5,000mcd in pink
- 10,000mcd in white

Both display boxes will be covered in perspecs to keep dust out and define the edges of the display.

32 LED's for the amplifier with 4 of each colour shinning from the top and bottom.

Amplifier template

<IMG SRC="http://pic14.picturetrail.com/VOL555/2287184/7149236/96750705.jpg">

Not sure on each number of LED's on the Stinger Accessories (which themselves have chasing LED's) but probably 16 (4 of each colour). I'll keep updating this during the week as i make progress.

I plan on mounting them slightly raised with pink Neon's shinning under the ledge casting a soft hue from behind them. Pink should look good with the blue LED's that are in the Power blocks themselves.

Template mounting of accessories and maked out original next to it.

Yes cheaper and it goes not flex. I have seen 25mm Perspec's bend in a speaker box. It also scraches easily. Glass doe snot scrach easily.

It's a bit like windscreen glass only thincker... (and not laminated)

Everything takes time. I have just worked through each project and you come up with better ways of doing stuff.

Some of these things took me a while to decide on and make even thourgh they look simple. I will post up at the end how long some stuff has taken.

have to agree here, it does take time and and alot of it. first custom install into my 4x4 never got finished, it never sounded right and i ended up gutting it and starting again, then she took 2nd place at the nats and am looking into caa for when i get the time. its been a continueous project currently redoing my centre console (between the front seats). took 2 hours last night just to remove the wiring and control module for hands free kit, and switches etc. basically everything 12v i have installed runs from here except my amps (which is a lot), so i needed it more user friendly for future addition and maintaince. Also i am about to give the old girl some cup holders if there is space :D

Anyways cant wait to ever see one of your cars mate, hey look bloody tops in the pics

I spoke with the depuaty editor from Street machine about the shoot. He said it will be lined up for the next 2-3 weeks. Not sure on the print date originally said about October but may be November i am thinking now...

I am in the throws of changing a heap of stereo stuff in mine to get it all done in time.
