Just had a read of the Car Audio Tutorial Part 3 - and this STN Signal to noise ratio? umm are coustics amps good with this because mines listed as "Signal to Noise Ratio: 80dBA (reference: 1 W output) "
can someone translate that into dummy talk! i thought that coustic amps were fairly good but if thats so, it means it Crap :'(

Is your amp a monoblock? If so it is less important. If it's a front stage amp then i would try and get something higher than 80db.

I owned 2 coustic amps (different series) and they were quite good but i have not had experience with their new stuff.

Yeah that will be OK.

Dont let me wreak your day i'm not trying to bad certain amps but am stating the facts.

All it means is that your amp has more introduced noise than other amps. For evey 80db of siginal it has 1db of introduced noise or interferience.
This may be in the form of hiss or hum etc comming heard through the speakers. It will be a lot less noticable through a sub and less noticable again if the gains are not maxed up....
PS can you do me a favor and change the name of this thread a little, i'm getting confused perhaps
