Maybe for a more legal method, check this paint stuff out that you put on to your Headlights to reduce the effectiveness of Police Radars

NSW Police Hwy vehicles use RDD (Radar Decector Detectors).

As soon as you start to get a signal of a Radar, the best thing u can do is turn it off :)

In NSW its a ~$1000 fine for posessing one, and you must hand it over. If you refuse to hand it over and they search your vehicle and locate one, you get an extra $1000 fine ;)

some of the earlier ones that were undetectable became detectable over time because the cops found new ways of detecting them. If you use the latest shadowing methods (last i checked it was POP 2 but that was a while ago) you will be fine untill the technology gets old and the cops can detect it, then you will have to buy the latest one. Also they are still not that accurate.

Funny story here... guy I work with had a mate who bought one of a guy who'd imported a stack from states. Supposedly had an RDD jammer. Anyway, he was going on a long drive, and thought he'd test it out. So 140 along the Hume, and bang a cop pulls him over. He's sitting there thinking "f**k, why didnt the detector work?". Cop walks over, window comes down and... *beep beep beep*... "Thats 30k's over and I'll have your detector too thanks sir"...

nah, soon as they can prove speeding 1KM/H over the limit will result in me instantly bursting into flames, then I'll stop.

Yeah but now Speed cameras have been shown in Court to be inaccurate. Hence the dude in Sydney contesting it and winning the case. Speeding Ticket drop-kicked in to bin

Seeing that the police radars work off a frequency, I am wondering if it is possible at all to jam the frequency that they run on, like the americans did to the Afgan TV stations when the US first invaded Afganistan in 2001. Is anyone willing to try?

yeah, IF they're using radar guns, most of them these days a LIDARs (laser based). Laser jamming although possible is not easy, cheap, or 100% effective.

Best way to defeat RADAR. Take 1 old microwave oven, remove the magnatron, hook up to front of the car, add an in cabin switch. Next time you see a copper on the side of the road, give them a 1000W blast of microwaves (save freq band as radar) and send their equipment to hell.

Nah that case was because they couldnt prove if it was tampered with due to the code at the top being inaccurate the actual readings that the speed camera take should be accurate.

Here in Vic supposedly it's only the highway patrol that use the LIDAR cause it's too expensive to equip all the vehicles with.
Unfortunately, the only surefire way I see to beating the radar is to not get pinged by it.

Didn't you see that, "MythBusters" epsisode where they De-bunked all the ways to try and stop Speed Cameras. The Magnatron out of a Microwave was one of them, and it actually gave the Radar a better reading HeHe

That's only because they made that huge spinny thing on the roof. Gave a bigger area to 'catch'.

No if they made it highly directional, you'll actually kill the radar gun, as you'll overload it's circuitry. Take this as coming form someone who's worked on BIG radar equipment. Of course you then have the issue of aiming it correctly. But I'll leave that as an exercise to the reader.

And anyway, I was under the impression that most coppers in Oz, have upgraded to LIDARs anyway. So unless you're painwork, windows, and number plates ABSORB laser light your screwed.

From what I have been told by a police officer, the Lidar is only a hend-held device, which cannot give an accurate reading when it is moving.
The devices which are mounted on the car still use RADAR technology.

But don't take my word for it.
