just wondering if anyone has modified their rear parcel shelves as i want to make like a cover that sits on top of mine so that it basically looks flat and hides my splits in the rear when you look through the back window. If anyone has done this pictures for ideas would be nice.

To fit 6x9 in I put spacers. A mate cut his parcel shelf (which is illegal)

I'll just stress that. Not to mention it'll affect your handling as the rear will flex more.

here's what i did in my ea, it's a bit rough at the moment, but was a rush job, but was simple to cut out some mdf in a flame shape with a jig saw and mount the speakers to the mdf then screw up under the parcel shelf into the board to hold it firm.

the problem with ef el is that to put the shelfe in and out it needs to be able to flex so it makes it a little hard to build up on it i have looked in to it and the only way to do it that i can see is in a 2 peace shelfe and as for just covering it darker timt some pub bar mats towel donno intresting to see what people can come up with

Modifying the parcel shelf structure really is a big no no. Best bet would be as im not a fan of spacers, is to have something fabricated to raise the height. Would need to be a 2 piece mould and cost from $300 up. I'll hopefully be arranging something similar soon well its on the cards....its a big job and very time consuming because the area to work is so small and complicated to get a good end result.

I was thinking of making a frame for each side of the middle seatbelt to the required height to cover the speakers, and then use 3mm mdf to cover the frames and link it together. To the people out there , I am not mounting the speakers higher or cutting bigger holes. My speakers are mounted in factory holes, all I want to do is cover them so that you can see them.

erm.... the parcel shelf on an e series is not part of the chassis, it is illegal to modify the parcel shelf in most cases but falcons you can hack all you want... well in WA you can.....

ahh doubt that mate when talking bout the parcel shelf and the legalities we rent talking bout the caret and sorta cradboard or what ever base ON the parcel shelf to protect it and look pretty.....the actuall metal shelf under neath is apart of the chasis and thus modifications to this effects the strength and stability of the vehicle thus the legal aspects.
