I am looking into buying a monoblock amp to run my 12" MB QUART 350WRMS Sub what is a decent quality amp that can put out 350WRMS @ 4 OHMS any help appreciated.

Only one problem,
# 200W x 1 (4 Ω)/ 400W x 1 (2 Ω) (continuous power) # 400W x 1 (4 Ω)/ 800W x 1 (2 Ω) (max. power) 200WRMS @4 OHMS i need another 150WRMS But thanks for the suggestion. |

it doesnt have to be exactly 350 mate

Im running a Pioneer 760w (300rms) and it pumps pretty well with a 1200w sub (250rms)

Have a look at some JayCar Response stuff...if you're lucky last years models might be on special to make way for the new.
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... BCATID=595 More power than you need, but you can always turn the gain down to accomodate the sub. Enough head room for sub upgrade or addition of another sub. Price is similar to the Pioneer one. Can't say I have used Response before, but haven't heard anything bad about them so far.

There's not really any point getting a monoblock for a 4 ohm sub... Monoblocks are designed to make their optimal power for 2 and 1 ohm loads. For a 4 ohm load, you're better off getting a 2 channel amp and bridging it. It will run the sub just as well as the mono as long as it's well made amp, plus it can be used for 2 channel duties if you ever change your system.

Late reply on this one, been in melb all week.
If its a dual voice coil you can run it at 2 Ohm, i think this sub is but not sure. My Subs are run at 2 Ohm and they are 4 Ohm subs, but i have two and run them in parrallel.

Yeah, but im saying you don't NEED to run it at 4 Ohm. It can be run at 2 Ohm. I mean sure you can run it at 4Ohm, but why? You get less power from most AMP's at 4 Ohm. You mostly only run 4Ohm on speakers that you want to have good quality sound from, and with a sub you wont be able to tell the difference. EG my mono block has 250W RMS @ 4Ohm and 380W RMS @ 2Ohm.

OK then i have a single 4 OHM voice coil sub and i am sure they cant run @2 OHM
