So here's the problem,
I ent to replace the head unit in my EF Fairmont Ghia (premium sound system), I removed the dash plate, and the torx screws have already been stripped! As this is a VERY awkward area, what is the best way to remove these? Don't really care if I destroy them, because I will be replacing them with different screws for future access. Thanks |

use a flat head Screwdriver , one that is a bit on the big side and use that to turn them.
my mate had the same problem with the ones that hold the head unit in and i used a flat head driver and a pair of multiy grips and it came undone.

keep away from drilling if you can - because you still need the thread for the replacement screw .. if you have a dremel you could fashion a flat blade slot and use that to get it out, dremel's are cool!!

Meh, Mole wrench or vice grips.
I've even taken them out with 'yellow' sidchrome electricians pliers. I guess u need a bulgarians strenght!

well, after hours of failed 'safe' attempts to remove the screws, I drilled them out.
Worked a treat. |
