dont think so bud the last i heard about it was you need to have your ignition barrel hidden under the dash with a key always in it so the imobiliser thinks your in it.
bit unsafe if someone gets in your car. there is old threads about it not sure if anyone actually did it tho

Remote start is illegal to use anyway.
I did it, as above with a spare ignition barrel hidden (and disabled, cut the wires off it so it couldn't be used tos tart teh car, it only acted as a smartlock key barrel.

you can use remote start with a smartlock bypass module instead of messing around with other barrels etc.

Yeah of course, but the bypass is significantly more expensive that another barrel.

Heres the deal. Im a electrician & thought i could wire it myself and just bought a remote start RSA Remote alarm. I had no idea they were illegal. I just liked the idea of remote start for the early mornings b4 work. should I still go ahead with this alarm or trying and get another model if its not worth the hassel? What do you guys recommend?

Just don't wire up the remote starter function.

I bought the same thing but I also got a tilt sensor and ultrasonic sensors. Tisonics here in Adelaide want $250 to install the alarm without remote start or either of the other two sensors. And they want $450 to install the two sensors as well.
They refuse to enable the remote start. I don't really know if I want to anymore as I wasn't aware that it voided your insurance when I bought it. I've found a guy who will enable the remote start for me if I can get a smartlock bypass module. I'm getting the alarm and immobilizer installed tomorrow without any of the other features. I'll let you know how it goes.

I changed the date of installation to Monday coming. When the alarm is in and working I think I'll cancel the theft part of my insurance and get remote start enabled with a smartlock bypass module.
