hmm yerr sorta they are admittently on the dear side of car audio but arent that far pressed....but yes value for money you certainly get solid well performing gear...depends what you buy they have your normal cheap midrange gear that will get you buy in a nice lil setup and can go quite extreme...they have a 25K+ single 4 channel amplifier so they can get right up there :P...but Ive had exposure to quite abit of the gear and hold them in high regard...

What have you got in mind for a replacement system...or havent really thought into it too much yet ? and is it a whole system overhaul or just replacing a few components like front splits n woofers etc?

there s**t!! sound quality wise are good i spose i pulled some huge figures from my single 12" sub but when it comes to there equipent actually lasting its s**t for example im on my 3rd rockford sub in a year and a half. first one blew after a week the second some bit came apart inside something to do with glue i dunno i didnt bother checking it i just threw it back at em, and my 3rd the actual metal frame on the back has snapped so the sub is barley holding on and now i have to get a 4th. my old sub was a us audio i had that for 2 years before it went pop and the rockford was only a few db louder so

i listend to a rockford system in autobarn and a pioneer system and the cheeper pioneer sounded way better, so thats how good they are. i listend to a cheaper JVC system $1100 or so, and it also spunded better.

do your reaserch and check out the specs of the equipment, buy gear with low Total Harmonic Distortion. stick to brands like Eclipse, Alpine JL audio, ect.

how a product is marketed is also how good it is, a flashy speaker box with 500w!! printed on it or a plain box with all specifications printed on the side. what would you Buy?

I dont know alot about audio but i know i like my music loud, clear and bassy. At the moment I have pioneer 6 inch 260w speakers all round with a pioneer deck. What could I do to get that sounding better? I dont have alot of money at the moment cause im saving for some mags

Rockford is a pretty good brand... IMO, far better than the gear you can get in JB, Autobarn and Strathfield. They are pretty expensive though.

I've never had any RF gear fail.. its rock solid, awesome sound quality. Certainly my first choice if I was to do another big install.

I've had 2 12" RF Punch subs, was very happy, also have 3 of there amps, one was a 100.2 Punch, and that thing was sensational!!! The other two amps did eventually die, but I was the 3rd or 4th owner of them and they were probably 5 - 8 years old by that stage, and it was installed in a car when it was written off in a crash!

I have some 11yr old rf punch dsm amps and these things work perfectly, as good as new......
But these are the old school american made units not the newer made in china units!!!!
As for speakers, rf have never been known for soundquality, there are far better splits around than what rf make, their subs do tend to hit hard and loud, but once again not really intended for sq purposes......
