Ok so atm I have 12k OA s series 12" sub. It was in a big front slot port box, mtx sledgehammer box, but I wanted a little more space.
So I've put it into a small seal box. But when the subs hitting hard it pushes out air and dosnt take more back in. So it pulls the cone down and hardly works. Can I just drill a hole in it. Or would it be wiser to try and find the leak and block it. |

Nah, 12" sub 12" box. Haha.
I've used the box for a few other subs and its been fine. Sub fits well around the ring. Its leaking around the join somewhere and maybe from the terminals. |

The idea of a sealed box is that it is sealed...
If you go drill a hole in it you'll ruin it's properties... Take the less half a*** approach and actually fix the problem as opposed to band aiding it :p Cheers, Tim

Sounds like the box is too small and the box is badly sealed. Either get a new one made up properly or fix the problem...hell even silicon or no-more-gap stuff can do the trick. You can damage your sub if it's been pulled back.

Ok, box is small as.
Has been used for a fair few subs probably leaking from all the holes in it. Fixed the problem tho. Put it back into the sledgehamer box. |
