well i managed to get out of class early at uni so i decided to work on it. been working on this part for about 3 hours using trial'n'error approach.....not wise but i cbf calculating. im using all sorts of materials i have lying around. thats why i have a fluro yellow plastic which i melted in the oven (mums going to kill me if she finds out) and moulded it for the seat belt. The spacer is made up of junk wood as well but all of the stuff u see here wont be seen when the carpet is on =D hope all goes well =S

cheers

Just a quick point, make sure the seatbelt comes out over the top of the self, not under, cause otherwise, when the new shelf is screwed down, you will restrict the movement of the seatbelt. Also, make sure it doesnt rub on any part of the new shelf, cause it could weaken the belt over time. Otherwise, looking good!

The wet bits of the wood is where i left a damp sponge so that the mdf could curve to make a smooth shape.......had to clamp it down and add some weights to keep it down. now its sitting with a bit of curve. hopefully i can get the 2nd speaker done tomorrow.

here are some more pics with both of the spacers on and the plastic stuck down. with the speakers in them. ive also decided to use foam that i have lying around from electrical equipment to make the smooth edges so that i can glue the carpet to it. hope that works out. enjoy

Looking good so far mate - regarding that tube, it looks like a drainage tube for a sunroof...presuming you have a sunroof hehe.

Cheers,
Steve

nah i kept the original. u can see it in one of the photos. i bought the carpet at thomastown market for 15 bux for a 6' by 3' piece. was more then enough. havent tested yet :S in the process of putting in my sub divider.....its a free air sub so i need the boot to act as a box. once thats done ill plug the system and give it a try.

cheers
