Ok seriously now, have a look in my gallery on the location of my tweeters. I have a 4 channel amp running the fronts and rears and a mono block running the sub. You can run them off the HU but you cant cut the low frequencies, by cutting the low frequencies it improves clarity and depending on the amp and how hard its ran there should be little or no distortion (square waving) from low frequencies. This is the idea set up is desired if running a sub. Other wise you have to run full frequencies.

my system will very soon be much the same as joolz, but i have only a 2 channel, so just amping the fronts. pics attached of where i mounted my tweeters. they look lairy in the pics, but you dont even notice them in real life, blend nicely into the corners mind the phone photos sorry guys

i own a NC Fairlane so its slightly different to the EF/EL's but i know they have the same thing. im using at the moment the stock tweeters in the car but i have a spare set ill be using the surrounds and mounting my tweeters in them then remounting, that way you hear them good but there is no ugly screw holes in the dash... if you mount them where the ghia badges are just be sure you have enough room behind the trim to fit them.

cheers joolz, they are alpine type s.
where i ended up putting them was a great spot, the whole lot just fell into place perfectly, everything fit without too much hassle. i remember copying off your system actually for the amp wiring, up above the plastic inner guard. got photos from back in 04!! |

Its sure better than running through the firewall and so much neater. Only downside is that its a harder job.

More or less the same as nicco... even though they are no longer hooked up. I don't wanna remove them and be left with ugly screw holes...

Mongoose get your self a dash mat, i know they sound uncool but they sure cut the reflection of the dash on the windscreen and will cover ur srew holes!

Why? people go "oo! tweeters!" ... I say, "They sure are! " I don't mind them there. Besides, I really and honestly can't be bothered removing them. Plus I didn't spend a whole day, a butload of preparing and two cans of Plastic and Vinyl paint on my entire dash just to cover it up with a dash mat.

Mine is currently too high on the front with lows all around. puttin in superlows next weekend along with Ultima shortened shocks but with heavy duty on the rear. I have a current pic in "exterior mods" upgraded rims on EL i think. Ill post up the link.
