nicco i thought id give away my secret of the false floor, i have a small finger hanger, and 3 hinges bolted to the back so i can get to the spare. i did however think of about 3 different ways to do it and i never saw anyone else hinge it, its normally sitting on blocks

I thought of hinging mine but it just seemed too hard with the way I was doing mine and the way that the tail light come into the boot and therefore was really just not worth it...
Being removeable means easier access to the spare wheel as well as the fuel pump as well. The EB boots are probably different to the EF ones.

Plenty were hinged (including mine) at the round 2 CAASQ comp on Saturday.

i thorght about hinging... but how oftern do you actually access the spare wheel? i have never blown a tyre. and when/if i do im sure i can handle holding a board up as i have to anyways. either way your lifting the front of the board. one is fixed so if you get something jammed you cant remove it, and the other isnt fixed and you can remove i needed.

Little things like hinged access, are free points for CAASQ show class competitions.

oh true... so a few dollars spent gives you some free points... hmm not bad.

is there anywhere that can test the DB readings without going to a car show?

Free is a relative term of course. Yeah a few bucks on hinges, much cheaper than spending $3,000 on a set of splits, to possibly gain 1 point with weeks of tuning and installation (how much is that worth?).

One of the easiest way to score 5 points (a rather hefty haul) is to have a fire extinguisher. Sure you may not need or want one, but 5 points can easily be the difference between a award or nothing.

Buzz ya local car audio outlets ... ones bound to have an SPL meter capable of reading at least 130-150db which is good enough for testing at least.

I'm planning on hinging my boot false floor so the spare is easier to access. Not to mention, on the other side where the fuel pump is, i was thinking about having a small compartment or two for stowage of toos, nice and neat. Each compartment will have hinges to get to things easily, inc the fuel pump.

A fire extinguisher is a great idea in any car! I bought one for my ford, but i'll be mounting it inside on the console, passenger side. Easier to get to than in the boot, if it's ever needed.

Cheers

ToranaGuy

Mine is a very tight fit (due to being carpeted around the edges), it doesn't move by itself.

I was considering putting on a small snib to lock the doors in place. I'm still planning mine.

Cheers
