haha no worries. DD make some killer SPL s**t thats for sure. Boston, not so much, biggest rms listed is 1000 from them I think, theyre aimed at SQ really, pretty much everythin else from them is ~500rms. RE make some very nice gear as well.. Fi BTLs (2000rms 12s)..... Even Kickers solo X - 5000rms 18", and the MTX jackhammer (lethal s**t lol - 6000rms 22".. theyve got a 24" square sub now as well :/ )... and thats just some of the more well known mid range gear.

Ive cut out the mdf to shape, now im debating how to make the floor panels sit even over the spare tyre dips.
How did everyone else decide to do it? (ef boots would be more helpful) I was going to make slats but then though a frame around the spare tyre cutout..? Also what did you install your carpet with? Adhesives or some other way? |

That sub has got two 4Ohm coils, so you can wire it as 1 only = 4 ohm 2 in parallel = 2 ohm 2 in series = 8 ohm That amp will be fine. Too much power is better than not enough power.

I have mine facing forward right behind the rear seat (single 12" in box). Its sounds OK to me...
I have been told it depends on the kind of music you listen too as well (mine mainly 70's-90's).

gain doesnt have to be set to zero, but you start there when you tune it.
if you look on MEA forums you will see a tutorial on how to tune your system the correct way |

You have alot to learn... headunits do nothing but distort the music the internal amp is designed to run stock speakers only. you should ALWAYS tune via the amp. have a read on http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/ and you will learn alot |

This is what happened to me and this is why I have to tune it from the headunit; when I say tune from the headunit, I mean the Sub volume. The main tuning was done through the amp, where the bass boost and the bass boost frequency were adjusted, but if I increased the gain, even by a small amount, the coils in the subwoofer start to burn at high music volumes. and yes I do have alot to learn Pete |
