it cost me $13 from bunnings for the panel, the box cost $5 cause it came from a packing sheet. Do you think i could pull off the perspex idea for the spare tyre? how much do you think 22inch circle would cost?

It used to be louder when it was at the back of the boot, but this is more convenient for me - so i'm happy. I want to try to add two 8" jaycar subs. Don't question the logic of this, but a single 8" in a dodgy ported box had lower bass extension than my MTX 12" in a prefab box. I want the two 8's to make up extra bass at lower volumes.

I've only ever bought smallish sheets of A4/A3 sized sheets of 3mm perspex, $5-$8 as they're usually offcuts.

They'd sell you a 22" a side square which works out to be a little less than 1/3 a square meter.

My 'install' *cough* throw in the boot.

hey just a question, kinda of on topic

but would a 10" free air sound alright?
to replace the 8" on the parcel shelf, (yes i know its an 8 inch hole, but use like spacers or soemthing like that to lift it up a bit)

I considered that ages ago, but mounting it under the parcelshelf, firing up - with spacers in between. Autobarn guys told me not to do it blah blah blah (you know the usual salesman crap). I was still keen to do it, but never got round to trying.

I really think if that crappy paper cone in the Premo system can sound nice, then a free air pioneer or whoever 10" sub would go even better.

You try that idea, and I'll try my twin 8" idea, and we'll compare results.

Looksm good, i got a rockford fosgate 15inch sub! ;)

I sold mine. Since i got a gas tank now the rockford was just too big for my limited boot space, so i'm thinkin of going two less powerful 10's or a good 12". That rockford certainly did go loud tho, although I found myself quite frequently turning the bass fairly low as i was starting to lean towards an SQ system rather than SPL (which i had origionally designed the system for). So i'm looking at getting a pair of focal utopia 10's or maybe something a little cheaper....

I get mine from a glass place - go in just before closing, they're too lazy to cut/price accordingly and you'll get a good price.

I rang a place here and they said $35 for 3mm? That was for a 24" square. $50 should get me 5mm. I'm kinda happy with that price, but how thick do you think I should make it to cover my spare wheel? Considering that occasionally it may get stuff put on it. I may still make a temporary cover for it for those occasions

3mm will flex, will prob break if someone stands on it. 5mm will be safe for just about anything.
