not too much difference dude...depends on how u want it to sound...if theyre facin into the cabin then obviously the passengers etc are gonna hear the subs more prodominently...but facin the rear is also fine....most guys do this to show the subs off when u open up the boot.

I mean if u were chasing extra DB it aint gonna make much diff with what ya got there....would be a very minimal gain having them facin the cabin.

hey djmikey, what type of rear speakers do you have in your falcon. I have gas too, but the tank is a bit too high for the six by nines to fit at parcel shelf height. I also like the carpet on the gas tank, makes it look a lot neater!

I am running S series alpine 6x9's, they sit on a 25mm spacer and clear the top of the gas tank just.

They are also facing the other way, see the pic

Only one pic when i first had it installed in the ute.
two 12" JL Audio subs mounted behind the seats with the Jaycar 800W D-class amp mounted on a false floor between the subs.

enclosures fit snugly behind the seats too.

I get a nice back massage :D

It looks like factory Falcon XR interior material on the seats and door trims ... to match the factory paint colour ... but I could be wrong.

djmikey, thanks for that. My cousin has those type alpines, they sound sweet. i got a set of pioneer 6x9s but i have clearance issues with the gas tank underneath it. i got myself some spacers but theyre the un upholstered ones and they look like s**t. did you yank the gas tank out to do it?

No I just fiddled about to get them to screw in. I was thinking about making a new rear deck but don't have the time any more. Something carpeted and totally custom.
