 Post subject: six and a half inch

just wondering if i could fit 6 and a half inch speakers in the doors of my ed falcon. there are type r splits. im not to sure and just wanting to know if anyone has done it before. email me if you have on jamiec183@hotmail.com or just leave a post and ill read it some time soon. thaks

Shouldnt be a drama, Ive had Pioneer 6.5" speakers in my EB. Fit straight in.

The Pioneers were great..... but not as good as the Soundstreams that replaced them ;-)

so they fitted straight in. they just dont look like they fit. my mate with a ef said that 6 and a half would fit in his car

The grill on the trim is misleading... its smaller.
Take this pic of my door for example.... the stock speaker on the top is 6" and the Soundstream one in the pod is also 6"

My 6.5" Pioneers also fit in the parcel shelf where the 6" stockers once resided..... straight fit.

Well that depends how handy you are with wood, fibreglass and car putty. I followed the tutorial available at www.caraudioaustralia.com

yeah mate, i have type s splits in my EF doors, so type r splits should fit in.

only just, but they still fit

Some 6.5" speakers fit straight into the factory 6" hole but most dont. I do know along with brands already said above JL audio VR 6.5" splits do fit but the TR's dont. So if in doubt ask the sales person.

you will probably need an mdf spacer for the front door and to cut at the door trims. All the 6.5's i've tried havent fitted in the front or back....well they appear to fit in the back but are sitting on the basket :roll:

oh yeah and i needed to use the black spacer adaptor that came with the splits to get them in though
