Got the Ute goin into Strathfield next week, MTX 6" splits and MTX 6x9 3ways, teamed up with a pioneer 600W 4 way. Soon to follow, Pioneer slimline sub, pioneer amp to piggy bacy back this one, all in custom hideaway box behind the console. Should put out a few nice notes. Depending on ow it sounds up first time, Might have to go back in to have the doors dynmat'd
Looking forward to decent tunes though

Yeah sounds pretty ok but why are you going for the 6x9's and later a sub? the 6x9's especially in a ute wont be needed with a sub. Spend the extra money on some better splits instead of the 6x9's.

get the splits, 6x9s and sub. i've tried both splits with a sub and currently have splits with 6x9s, and i cant wait til i put my sub in again. what you need to make sure is they turn the bass down on the 6x9s when they set it up and get the sub behind the drivers seat its a good massage. and dont fall for the slimline s**t, there's plenty of room behind the seat for a normal sub+box, unless you like the sound of it but i think they are a waste of money

1200.00 For whats goin in, but then with the slimline, im goin for that cause we're working on a custom fibreglas box that will line up with the centre console, i dont want to lose the space behind the seats, Thats why im only lookin at 8-10" slimline, minimal air req. keep it nice and low and not so blatantly out there for show screamin steal me.
1200 includes, the amp, splits, 6x9's and 8 guage through out with uprated fuse and terminal wiring to allow for sub and amp upgrade. Did my research though, shopped around and also checked with few guys here and there as to which strathies even do the better installs. and these boys are supposed to be tidy and efficient. so im happy with that. next project to save for is slammin it on its a** and some new 19's

its the TX6001 splits http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/sp ... axials.cfm and the tdx6903 6x9's http://www.pioneer.com.au/products/car_ ... index.html the GM6200F amp Plus the cabling, the baffle plates, the sound deadening the doors and the fact its all gettin installed, Oh and 2 sets of aux wires that run toward the back to allow me to hook up external speaker towers for bbq's or the drivein (got a matress cutout that sits in the tray in summer) Im fairly happy, But hell if you can get a better price let me know, Ive not been able to match it

thats what i thouight about the price too.
I even contacted custom car sound who import the mtx gear and the RRP they gave me plus the amp price from pioneer and the rest topped me out well over 1500.00. so Im happy, will throw some pics on when its done, then will keep updated on the cutom box, Its something i wanna have fun with, something subtle yet nice smooth lines so you know its not quite standard...

I notice you're using 8Ga power cable.
I would use at least 4Ga if I was you. Since you're looking at adding a second amp, 8Ga won't be enough. It seems a waste of money to buy 8Ga cable, (say 5mt x $8=$40) then change to 4Ga later, when you could get the 4 Ga straight up. Saves on some hassle running cable a second time too. Tell em, you'll give em an extra $20 for 4Ga first time round. They'll probably go for it.

Be better on your battery as well
