Not everyone can afford the Alpine head units, yes they are good but i wasnt about to spend $800+ for an Alpine unit with 4line out and seperate sub out. Ive had my JVC KD-G805 head unit for just over 4 years now without a single problem and only cost $350. The only thing i have changed over the past 4 years in my system is the sub amp as the old 2ch low pass cfross over died so i went for a JL mono block.

Is this what your hektic cuz'z told you? honestly that advice is quite poor. I wouldnt even think of looking at Kenwood, JVC, Sony or even most of Pioneers range in a mild sound quality setup. For speakers/subs look at Hertz ESk/HKS series / HX series subs Focal 165A1 upwards / 33V1 sub Infinity K65.7CS Boston DLS Dynaudio JL MB Quart Oz Audio Oz V 650S3 Polk db6501 Eclipse Morel Tempo 6 DD For amps Eclipse Audison SRx/LRx range Alpine Hertz JL Kicker Headunits Eclipse Alpine etc etc.. theres heaps if you look hard enough, just stay away from JVC, JBL, Sont, Boss, cheap Alpine/Pioneer (You'd be dissapointed with their performance vsprice) All good stuff on this list
